How was the speed test performed?
A selection of twelve hosting providers has been made and these have been subjected to an extensive test. In order to keep it somewhat fair, an attempt has been made to purchase a similar package from each hosting provider. What does this mean? What ‘kind’ of website was tested?
For the execution of the speed test, the CMS (Content Management System) WordPress was chosen and the website was developed with it. On this WordPress website, the theme WP Astra was installed with a standard template (web design) and some basic plug-ins (functionalities) that are used on many WordPress websites.
When everything was in order, a copy of this ‘standard’ website was made, which was then installed on every hosting package of every hosting provider. This means that every hosting package that was purchased has exactly the same website and the web hosting speed test can be performed fairly.
